Moxa unveils the ideal communication solution for high bandwidth Ethernet powered devices (PD) in industrial applications. To complete the line of high performance and extremely reliable industrial Ethernet switches, the EDS E series, the new EDS-G512E-8PoE is released. It features a high power output (up to 36 watts) designed for industrial, heavy-duty PoE devices, Gigabit Ethernet capabilities for large bandwidth network transmissions, easy management tools (SmartPoE) for monitoring PDs, and an industrial-grade reliability built to withstand harsh environments.
“Due to the increasing adoption of high bandwidth power devices in industrial applications, such as PTZ/outdoor HD cameras and wireless APs with IEEE 802.11n and IEEE 802.11ac capabilities, a switch with IEEE 802.3at abilities while featuring Gigabit Ethernet solutions is essential for a smooth network communication.” explained Gary Chang, a product manager at Moxa’s Industrial Ethernet Infrastructure Division. “The new EDS-G512E-8PoE series feature 8 Gigabit PoE+ ports allowing for large bandwidth transmissions and up to 30 watts of power in its standard mode. For heavy-duty PDs (power devices) requiring a higher voltage, the EDS-G512E-8PoE series also allow up to 36 watts of power output. The series ensure a sufficient power supply for your mission-critical, power-sensitive applications, making it the best Gigabit PoE+ solution to date.”

Siemens has extended its industrial remote communication portfolio with three new industrial routers from the Scalance M series of products. The Scalance M812-1 and Scalance M816-1 enable users to access automation networks and components remotely from anywhere in the world over the public digital subscriber lines (DSL) of different providers. The third new router – the Scalance M826-2 – is designed for communication over private (leased) lines. The new routers are particularly suitable for applications in which wireless communication is either restricted or impossible, for example in the field of water treatment plants or medical technology.
