This application note describes the process for integrating the DeltaV Virtual IO Module with an FMC722 TPU using firmware IOD-4105. There may be times during the integration process where referencing the Virtual IO Module Manual is recommended or necessary to proceed. A link to the manual is located below:

The following software components are required for the integration process:

• VIMNet Explorer

• SmartTool Software Suite (distributed from FMC Technologies with the TPU)

• DeltaV Explorer

This application note assumes that the user has already configured the TPU using the SmartTool software suite. For questions/information regarding the configuration of the TPU, contact FMC Technologies.

Cogeneration facilities are considered to be among the most modern, energy-efficient producing facilities because of their superior environmental performance. Their purpose is to generate and distribute steam which can be used for heating, domestic hot water heating, humidification, sterilization of water and distilling water. During the cogeneration process, steam passes through a double automatic controlled extraction pressure and condensing steam turbine generator, and as a result, the electricity it produces becomes a beneficial byproduct. The combination of these results in a thermal efficiency greater than that of any plant built strictly for power generation.

An LCD segment display provides all actuator set-up and operating menus whilst detailed diagnostic and operating data screens are clearly displayed in dot matrix format. Daelim Industrial announced that it received the LOA (Letter of Appointment) for the construction of the oil and gas pipeline remote control system worth KRW222.8 billion from the Central Tender Committee of Kuwait on May 14. This project was ordered by KOC (Kuwait Oil Company), a state-run oil company of Kuwait, which will be conducted by EPC lump-sum turnkey base including engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning by Daelim.

This project is to establish an integrated information system to remotely monitor and operate the condition and leakage of oil and gas in real time that are transported through the pipelines in Kuwait. Daelim will build the integrated information system and an auxiliary centralized control center in Shuaiba located 40km south of Kuwait City. And measuring instruments will be installed along the pipelines. The construction period is 30 months.

Siemens Energy has been awarded a contract to provide long-term maintenance services for the pioneering Santos GLNG Project in Queensland, Australia. The multi-million dollar service order is Siemens' largest ever for its small gas turbine (SGT) product line. The customer is Santos GLNG, which is a joint venture between Santos, PETRONAS, Total and KOGAS. The six-year contract includes preventative maintenance, remote monitoring, parts supply, and field service for 16 SGT-400 industrial gas turbines (nine generator sets and seven compressor sets) spread across three Santos GLNG sites – Roma and Fairview 1 & 2. The agreement will help to ensure predictable reliability and maintenance costs for the SGT-400 gas turbines at the Santos GLNG Project.
